Sometimes we like to mix it up and take both kids on family outings! It's always a risk and it often ends in us threatening to never take them any where EVER again if the whining doesn't stop RIGHT NOW!!! But once again with my parents in town the zoo trip had an adult to child ratio of 2:1 and it was a warm enough day that the ice cream vendors were out. Dylan will do just about anything for Dippin' Dots.
More than watching the real animals every kid in the zoo loves climbing on the animal statues.
A Seattle zoo would be nuts not to have indoor activities for the 364 days a year when it's too cold and rainy to spend much time outdoors. They have this fun indoor play area where Caitlin likes to wall herself up in this egg shell. I have never been fast enough to get a picture of her before she breakes out of her shell.
And here's Caitlin showing us her tongue after eating the tutti frutti Dippin' Dots. To prove that my mom and dad were there that day there's the fact that the kids are alive and eating ice cream but also my mom's leg (black pants) and my dad's shoe (black).
