Before this becomes comically overdue, I want to say a few things about Dylan's baptism. In November Dylan turned 8, which is the traditional age for baptism among Mormon kids. He attended the baptism of his cousin last summer and it made him think seriously about what he was heading for in November. He was very serious about being ready to take such a big step and we were very proud of him for choosing to be baptized. Since his birthday was right before Thanksgiving this year we held the service over Thanksgiving weekend. My mom and dad and sister as well as Ken's sister and her family came up to join us.
Here's Dylan and Ken before the baptism. This is the same room where Ken and his siblings were baptized- maybe even the same white jumpsuits! The service was very nice- Dylan was cute and serious. Ken told me later that while he and Dylan we dressing in those fashionable jumpsuits he was joking with Dylan that those were his last moments to sin. Dylan looked at Ken and said, "Really? Fart! Fart! Fart!" Ha!

At the end Dylan was sick of having his picture taken and got kind of crabby- so there is no good family shot.
We had a little family lunch afterward that included using the chocolate fountain my mother in law gave me years ago for Christmas. Dylan has been bugging me to use the chocolate fountain for years. But it takes a minimum of 5 lbs of chocolate. It's not really the kind of thing I pull out for the 4 of us at home. So in honor of Dylan's special day we had clam chowder and chocolate fountain.
It was a great day! And Dylan has been a perfect angel ever since. hee hee.
