We got back tonight from the long anticipated Jennings Family Oregon Trip. We has a great time! Ken overheard his dad say on the phone that he was at a family reunion and Ken told me he thought, "No we're not! A family reunion is several generations with cousins and stuff.... Oh, wait! That's what this is!" It is still hard to face up to growing old.
Our house on the beach was perfect for this trip. We had a huge great room on the third floor and two floors of bedrooms below that. The big kids all shared a room and the little kids stayed with their parents. We had some nice weather and some gray skies but we didn't let that hold us back.

Before we had even unpacked the cars the kids were already digging. Why go to the beach when there's gravel in the driveway? But after unloading we did head down to the sandy beach which was just down the path from our house.

Right in front of our house were tide pools that we got to explore when the tide was low. There were starfish and anemones and a gazillion mussels. When the tide came in we could see from our window all the places we had walked under a good 10 feet of water.

Our outings included a trip to the Newport aquarium. The highlight of that trip was this harbor seal that the kids named Spot. It swam right up to the glass in front of them and they pet it through the glass. It went from window to window where ever there were kids to see. Dylan also got to touch Starfish, Sunfish, little sharks and rays.

While the big kids went crabbing with the dads and grandpa Caitlin got some one on one time with Grandma.
